1. Acceptance
By creating a GhostStat account or embedding the GhostStat tracking script, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and keep it current. One person or organisation per account unless we agree otherwise; you must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to measure only sites you own or are authorised to measure, and to tell your own visitors how you use analytics as your local law requires. You must not:
- use GhostStat to collect special-category or sensitive personal data, or to identify individuals against their wishes;
- attempt to de-anonymise the aggregated data, reverse the visitor hashing, or defeat the per-site salting;
- send us content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious, or use the service to attack or overload others;
- resell or white-label the hosted service without a written agreement.
4. Plans, billing and refunds
GhostStat offers a Free plan and paid plans. Every plugin is part of the product on every plan; paid plans raise the traffic your account can measure, not the features you are allowed to use. Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment providers (Stripe and/or PayPal) on a recurring basis until cancelled. Taxes may apply. You can cancel at any time from your settings; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We will give reasonable notice of price changes.
5. Plugins and the marketplace
Plugins are features of GhostStat, not paid add-ons. We may add, change, deprecate or remove plugins over time. Some plugins are experimental; we mark those where practical. An admin controls which plugins are enabled for an account, and which store additional data.
6. The ecosystem (Rent-An-Ad & Tossit)
GhostStat can connect to two sister products — Rent-An-Ad and Tossit. Using them is optional and governed by their own terms. If your account is on the Free plan and you publish a public stats page, GhostStat may display a Rent-An-Ad banner and cookie-free Tossit share buttons on that public page. Credits and sign-in are shared across the three products where you connect them.
7. Ownership of your data
Your data is yours. The statistics collected for your sites, and the content you upload, belong to you. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display that data to run the service and to provide the features you enable. We claim no ownership of your traffic. Aggregated, fully-anonymised statistics may contribute to our global market-share view, which never identifies a site or account.
8. Availability & changes
We work to keep GhostStat available and fast, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, and we may modify or discontinue parts of the service; where a change is material we will give reasonable notice. Self-hosting customers run their own infrastructure and are responsible for its uptime.
9. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Analytics are estimates, not a system of record; do not rely on them for billing, legal or safety decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GhostStat is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or the Acceptable Use section, or where required by law. On closure we stop processing and remove account data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to GhostStat's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Questions? Email support@ghoststat.me.
