Who owns what — the platform, your data, the tracking script — and the open data and libraries GhostStat is built on.

1. The GhostStat platform

The GhostStat software, dashboards, plugin framework, documentation, design and copy on this site are protected by copyright and related rights and remain the property of GhostStat and its licensors. Using the service does not transfer any of those rights to you beyond the licence to use the service under our Terms.
2. Your data and your content
The statistics collected for your sites and anything you upload remain yours. Nothing here changes that. You grant GhostStat only the licence needed to host, process and display your data so the service can work — see the Terms and Privacy Policy.
3. The tracking script
The GhostStat tracking script (gs.js) is provided for you to embed on the sites you own or are
authorised to measure, for the purpose of sending data to your own GhostStat account. You may not modify,
repackage, or redistribute it as your own product, or point it at an account you do not control.
4. Trademarks
"GhostStat," the ghost mark and related logos are trademarks of GhostStat. You may refer to GhostStat by name (for example, "analytics by GhostStat"), but please don't use our marks in a way that implies endorsement or partnership without permission. Rent-An-Ad and Tossit are separate products with their own marks.
5. Third-party licences
GhostStat stands on excellent open work. Where a licence requires attribution, here it is:
- Geolocation data — country, region and city ranges derive from open IP-location datasets including DB-IP (CC-BY) and, where a customer supplies them, MaxMind GeoIP databases, used under their respective licences.
- Network / ASN data — from public ASN registries and open ASN datasets.
- Weather signals — the optional Weather Reports plugin uses the Open-Meteo API.
- Front-end — Bootstrap (MIT), Bootstrap Icons (MIT) and the Open Sans typeface (SIL Open Font License).
- Other open-source components are used under their own licences; notices are retained in the source.
These attributions cover data and libraries GhostStat ships. They do not grant you any right in the GhostStat platform itself.
6. Reporting infringement
If you believe content served through GhostStat infringes your copyright, send a notice to copyright@ghoststat.me with: your contact details; identification of the work; the URL where it appears; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act. We respond to valid notices and remove or disable infringing material where appropriate.
